Polyethylene polymers are a group of materials that are produced in refineries and during the polymerization process of ethylene monomer units. Polyethylene raw materials are suitable for various uses in the rubber and plastic industries. These materials are produced in factories in different commercial grades, each of which is used to produce a specific product.

Polyethylene is produced in three commercial grades PE80, PE63 and PE100. Currently, two grades PE80 and PE100 are used to produce a variety of plastic products, including polyethylene pipes. The price of this material for making pipes is much cheaper than other raw materials, so buying polyethylene pipes will be very economical. Each type of commercial polyethylene is divided into subcategories that have unique characteristics. For example, grade 3840 is used to make plastic tanks, or grade PX3 is suitable for producing irrigation pipes. The best type of polyethylene is PE100, which is used as a raw material in single-wall polyethylene pipe production plants. PE80 type material is used to produce double-wall corrugated pipes.

Get to know the raw materials of polyethylene pipes:

The types of polyethylene raw materials have excellent properties such as high chemical resistance, cleanness and non-toxicity, thermal and electrical insulation, good impact resistance, resistance to corrosive materials, excellent flexibility and light weight. Polyethylene pipes made of high-quality polyethylene materials have slow crack growth characteristics so that if their walls develop the slightest defect, the entire pipe will not be destroyed at once. Polyethylene pipes have very good properties due to the excellent properties of the raw materials, which make them suitable for installation in various conditions. It is possible to transport drinking water, sewage, chemicals, irrigation and water supply, gas supply, etc. through polyethylene pipes in various dimensions. The raw material of polyethylene pipes is solid and is made of ethylene. One of the cheapest types of polymers is polyethylene, which is lighter than other polymers. Three categories of raw materials are used to produce polyethylene pipes, which are mentioned below.

Polyethylene pipes are divided into three categories in terms of raw materials:

PE63

PE80

PE100

PE63 polyethylene pipe raw materials:

The safety factor of pe63 = 1/6. The raw material of PE63 polyethylene pipes is heavier and thicker than the other two categories, which are almost obsolete. Currently, PE63 material is only used to produce 4-bar polyethylene sewage pipes with a size of 5 inches. Because if PE80 and PE100 materials are used, the thickness of the pipe is reduced, which increases the possibility of bursting of polyethylene sewage pipes. It has a lower density than the other two types of polyethylene pipe raw materials, and the cost of producing polyethylene pipes from this material is very high. PE63 does not work in the new standards defined for the production of polyethylene pipes.

PE80 polyethylene materials:

pe80 = 1/25 and the PE80 safety factor is the average weight compared to the other two categories. The higher the density of the raw materials, the lower the thickness and weight of the polyethylene pipe. As a result, it increases the resistance and reduces the cost of the pipe.

PE100 polyethylene raw materials:

The safety factor of pe100 = 1/25. PE100 polyethylene pipe raw materials are the newest and lightest raw materials in this category. As a result, costs are reduced and quality pipes are produced. The high density and excellent quality of polyethylene pipes produced from PE100 material make it easy to maintain and install this pipe due to its winding. Pipes made from PE100 material are the most durable and high-quality polyethylene pipes. Since 1990, this category of raw materials has been produced in European countries and has been approved as a standard raw material in the production of polyethylene pipes and fittings.

Procurement and production of polyethylene materials:

Standard pipe raw materials are obtained from Bandar Imam and Amir Kabir Petrochemicals, which are white in color and black is added to it during production. And it is usually used in the production of grade B pipes. Another part of the raw materials for polyethylene pipes is purchased from abroad, such as: Savik or Borozh, this boron material is itself colored and has a higher price than Iranian products and is used in grade A pipes, which are ordered by petrochemicals and refineries. Another type of polyethylene material is ground, which is obtained by grinding grade two polyethylene pipe. Some factories combine this ground material with new raw materials and use it to produce cheap polyethylene pipe. Another category of raw materials is polyethylene H and is used to produce very, very low quality polyethylene pipe. Sanat Gharb is a supplier of various types of polyethylene pipes and fittings.
