In less than four years, in 1958, world production of polyethylene raw materials reached more than 17,000 tons, while four years later, in 1962, production reached 200,000 tons.

Currently, the production of polyethylene pipe raw materials has exceeded 28 million tons, of which about 4 million tons are used in the production of polyethylene pipes.

It is interesting to know that after the production of polyethylene materials, the first application of interest to pipe engineers was because at that time the use of various types of metal and concrete pipes had become uneconomical.

It is interesting to know that polyethylene or hydrostatic pressure resistance was first tested in 1956 and is still being tested more than 60 years later. Some of the pipe samples on which the test began are still under tangential stresses of 5 and 5.7 N / mm2 at a temperature of 20 ° C.

Due to the increasing use of polyethylene pipes, manufacturing plants have always tried to increase its quality and reduce the total price, which is why today we are witnessing the production of very high-quality and cost-effective pipes.
